Learning At Adat Re'im
Through Jewish education and study, we become closer to God and to each other. At Adat Re'im, we believe that Jewish education is a pursuit to be enjoyed at any age, and for a lifetime.
For Children
Adat Re'im offers religious school programs for children from kindergarten through 12th grade. Our school has two divisions, the first for kindergarten through 7th grades, and the second for 8th through 12th grades. The curriculum for our school focuses on holiday and home observance, prayer Hebrew, Jewish history, theology, mitzvot, ethics and values. We believe that, in order to get the best Jewish education possible, a person must be exposed to a wide range of Jewish study that explores the full spectrum of Jewish knowledge, from the liberal philosophies of Reform and Renewal Judaism to the strict observance of halachah (Jewish law) in the Orthodox world. We believe that educating the next generation of Jews is a communal responsibility shared by teachers, parents, clergy and all members of the community. We understand that classroom instruction is only a limited tool in Jewish education. We encourage parents (and non-parent members as well) to teach by example participate actively in our education programs, and in congregational life in general.
For Adults
Adat Re'im also offers adult education programs. The structure of our adult education program is driven by need and desire. We believe that the more we know, the more meaningful our Jewish practices can become. Each year we ask the members of the congregation what they would like to study. From this information, we create the classes to help each and every person grow in their Jewish understanding. We would love to hear your ideas about educational programs of interest to you. Please contact us and let us know what you would like to study.
